For Meetings in February, April, June, August and October members are asked to bring a small plate of food for morning tea. There is an entry fee of $3. We have a trade table of plants and produce, books etc. Raffle tickets are 50 cents a ticket and there is a free door prize. We have a small library of books that can be borrowed on a monthly basis. Guest speakers are often invited to our meetings and recent speakers include: Bob Melville who gave a prestnettion on the new varieties of roses available. Bob also spoke on the subject of judging an Exhibition rose using specimens from our Best Rose Table as examples.
The Tea Rose Ladies brought a wonderful slide show presentation to us which explained the history of the Tea Rose and their rise and fall in popularity. These roses are now being acclaimed as superb roses for warm gardens. Their book "Tea Roses Old Roses for Warm Gardens" was also on sale and many members took the opportunity to add this beautifully illistrated book to their collection.
